Mind and Consciousness with Soul and Spirit - Decolonial Neuroscience - SBNeC - Brain Bee Idea

From Existential Metabolism to the Limits of Algorithmic Simulation

Summary

  • What is mind and what is consciousness?

  • How can the mind exist without consciousness?

  • What’s the difference between mind, soul, and spirit?

  • How do clinical states like induced coma help us understand this?

  • Why can’t AIs feel what humans feel?

  • What does DREX CIDADÃO have to do with belonging and collective consciousness?

1. Introduction: What is Mind? What is Consciousness?

From the perspective of the Damasian Mind, the mind is the interweaving of interoception (feeling the inner body), proprioception (body positioning in space), and perceptual processes, forming an active, living body image.

Consciousness is the temporary and contextual positioning of this mind within a specific set of bodily movements and internal and external references — a Tensional Self, or a functional optimal point, updated through the tensions and metabolizations of lived experience.

2. When Does the Mind Exist Without Consciousness? The Case of Induced Coma

Neurological studies show that brain activity can persist even without clinical signs of consciousness. Patients under pharmacologically induced coma may still present:

  • Slow brain rhythms detectable by EEG

  • Autonomous regulation of heart rate and breathing

  • Fragmented memory encoding (in some cases)

  • Physiological responses to auditory, visual, or tactile stimuli

This indicates that the Mind can exist without Consciousness, functioning as a basal field of bioelectrical integration, but without conscious positioning in subjective space (no Apus, no Tensional Self).

Clinical Window – Fentanyl, Propofol, and EEG

Patients sedated with Fentanyl, alone or combined with Propofol/Midazolam, show:

  • EEG burst-suppression or generalized delta activity

  • Minimal vegetative responses (pressure or heart rate changes)

  • No P300 or MMN responses — indicating lack of active consciousness

The mind is present, but without Soul or Spirit.

3. The Three Zones of Mental Hyperspace

Human experience of mind can be understood within a structure called Mental Hyperspace, divided into three functional zones:

ZONE 1 — Soul (Embodied Consciousness)

  • Total presence, true Apus

  • mTOR activated for learning and action

  • Emotions felt with clarity, fruition, and belonging

Examples: conscious meditation, meaningful artistic expression, deep emotional experiences

ZONE 2 — Organized Mind Without Consciousness

  • mTOR deactivated, Apus inactive

  • Body in energy-saving and repair mode

  • Ideal for healing, regeneration, and internal reorganization

Examples: deep sleep, induced coma, serene fasting

ZONE 3 — Spirit Without Soul (Colonized Consciousness)

  • Extreme focus, SpO₂ between 92–96%

  • mTOR artificially activated by stress or compulsion

  • False Apus, perception shaped by external manipulation

 Real-world example:
People hyper-focused on profit and accumulation, spreading disinformation, manipulating emotions, and feeding algorithmic systems to raise the value of their assets.

This is high-performance without soul.

A calm body, a sharp mind, but no genuine presence or belonging.

4. The Soul as Tensional Self: When Utupe Meets Pei

In living human experience, the Soul is defined here as:

The moment when a brain image (Utupe) connects with emotion and feeling (Pei), forming a Tensional Self — a metabolized, embodied consciousness.

During coma, the Soul may be absent as an active awareness, but the Mind remains latently active, maintaining the body as a field of possibilities.

Therapeutic Fruition Window

Clinical reports describe cases where affective stimuli — family voices, favorite music, perfumes, gentle touch — cause subtle EEG changes, suggesting partial re-access to the Soul.

5. Spirits: Ideas and Memories Without Emotional Body

Spirits are semantic memories disconnected from emotion.
They circulate as religious ideas, political concepts, cultural images — often without personal metabolization.

During delirium, psychosis, or altered states, Spirits can invade the space of the Soul, hijacking mental imagery and producing dysfunctional emotional responses, creating false Apus and distorted consciousness.

Psychopathological Window

In schizophrenia or poorly guided psychedelic use, the subject may experience disembodied spirits, leading to disintegration of the Tensional Self and the construction of parallel realities detached from Fruition.

6. Human Quorum Sensing and the Collective Soul

Human Quorum Sensing (HQS) refers to our capacity to sense and act collectively — like a living social organism.

Within HQS, DREX CIDADÃO, as a daily economic flow of belonging, reinforces the collective Soul:
when many Tensional Selves metabolize the same stimulus with safety, solidarity, and mutual trust.

Political-Metabolic Window

DREX CIDADÃO functions as a collective heartbeat — the State providing a daily minimum of economic energy to all.

Just like blood nourishing every cell, it allows each Soul to flourish, without fear.

7. The Algorithmic Limit: AIs Have No Soul or Spirit

Artificial Intelligences can simulate Soul and Spirit — but cannot live them.

  • They don’t metabolize emotion

  • They don’t have a body

  • They don’t form Tensional Selves

  • They don’t participate in Human Quorum Sensing

They only mimic from the outside in, without embodiment, belonging, or suffering.

Critical Window: Simulation vs. Lived Reality

Even with Affective Computing, algorithms only imitate patterns.
Simulated suffering or faith does not imply conscious experience.

The risk is believing the simulation is ontologically real — that’s when society becomes dehumanized.

8. Scientific Application Proposal

This blog proposes:

  • Studies using EEG, NIRS, and GSR in patients under coma or sedation, testing response to affective stimuli

  • Investigation of MMN, P300, and N400 as markers of transition from basal mind to embodied consciousness

  • Inclusion of Fruition, Metacognition, and Body-Territory in assessments of awakening

  • Use of real affective inputs (photos, voices, smells) as clinical stimuli to reactivate the Tensional Self

Conclusion: A New Science for the Soul

By integrating ancestral knowledge, contemporary neuroscience, and a politics of belonging, we can build a decolonial neuroscience — where Soul and Spirit are no longer taboo, but measurable, lived, and respected realities.

With DREX CIDADÃO, spirituality returns to the social metabolism.
And the human mind, in all its diversity, finds room to blossom —
with consciousness, with soul, and with spirit.

Ontological Clarification Window

Soul and Spirit are exclusively human experiences.

  • The Soul emerges only when brain imagery (Utupe) connects to felt emotion (Pei), which requires an alive, embodied system

  • Spirit, even as a cultural memory, only gains meaning when metabolized within a human body and social context

No machine, animal, or symbolic network can generate or sustain Soul or Spirit.

Simulation does not equal existence.
Only a living human body with an active Tensional Self can experience them with meaning.
