Your Body Thinks. Your Egg Cell Knew -  Brain Bee Ideas – SBNeC Escola – SfN 2025 Kid

APUS, DNA Democracy, and Learning Before You Were Born
Brain Bee Ideas – SBNeC Escola – SfN 2025 Kids

Have you ever thought that your body knew what to do even before you were born?
That’s right. Since you were just a tiny egg cell, your DNA was already making smart decisions to help you survive and belong in the world.
But this intelligence didn’t come from school. It came from your own body.

What is APUS? And why does it matter?

APUS is a concept from Indigenous Andean cultures in Latin America.
To these cultures, the APUS are sacred mountains — spirits that protect life and guide communities.

But here, we use APUS as a metaphor for something powerful:

APUS = Extended Proprioception
(meaning: the feeling that your body and the world around you are deeply connected)

When you feel like you belong, when your body “fits” into your environment,
when your way of being makes sense — that’s APUS in action.
It’s like your body is a living radar, sensing what surrounds you.

Your body is a living democracy

In your body, DNA is only the beginning.
It gives instructions, but cells are constantly negotiating, adapting to the environment.

It's like a biological democracy:

  • Your heart and brain communicate

  • Your immune system makes deals with your organs

  • Everything seeks balance and cooperation

But in society... that doesn’t always happen.

When your mind becomes a dictatorship

At school, on social media, or even at home, sometimes only one way of thinking is accepted.
Then you might feel like you have to:

  • fake that you’re okay

  • hide your doubts

  • repeat ideas that aren’t really yours

That’s a sign you’ve entered Zone 3:
A mind that’s over-activated, without joy or creativity.

Your avatars know the way:

  • Brainlly records everything through the senses

  • Iam organizes your emotional chaos

  • Olmeca absorbs society’s labels and standards

  • Yagé seeks freedom, meaning, and exploration

  • Math Hep processes tension to build a stable self

  • DANA feels a higher purpose — spiritual or social

But they all work best when you’re living in APUS — when your body and environment are in sync, with safety, time, and freedom.

Real intelligence comes from the body, not just the head

When you listen to your body’s rhythm, you learn better.
When you feel pleasure while exploring (fruition), you activate metacognition (thinking about how you think).
But you can’t rush that.
Your brain’s full top-down development (from prefrontal areas) only finishes around age 25–30.

So... how about breathing, feeling, and living in APUS?

True knowledge starts in the body.
And your body knows things no algorithm ever will.

Question for you to reflect on:

If your egg cell already knew how to live…
Why ignore that just to fit a pattern that isn’t yours?
